Haneirot Halalu

Después que se encendieron las luces de Janucá se acostumbra a recitar o cantar el himno Haneirot Halalu.

Hanerot Halalu Anu Madlikim
Al Hanisim Veal Haniflaót,
Sheasita Laavoteinu Baiamim Hahem Bazeman Haze,
Al Iedei Kohaneja Hakedoshim.
Vejol Shemonat Iemey Ha-Januka Hanerot Halalu Kodesh Hem,
Veein Lanú Reshut Lehishtamesh Bahem,
Ela Lireotam Bilvad, Kedei Lehodot ulehalel
Le-Shimja Ha-Gadol Al Niseja veal Nifleoteja Ve-Al Yeshuateja.

TO; To all disappointed
Your comment is accurate, however it was not the Mitteler Rebbe, rather the Rebbe Maharash
(R' Shmuel-4th Rebbe)

This is so beautiful and so heartfelt. I wish I could see it performed in person. Thank you so much for this - these songs. To hear and sing them in our homes is a delight. Happy Chanukah! And to all disappointed, thank you so much for that explanation! I am not at all disappointed, but I do wish they also had a simple version for us to sing in our homes while lighting our own lights! It would be nice to have both versions available! And more like this beautiful one for us to listen to!

first year
I am a woman of 75 years of age and have never lit chanukah candles. Tanks to my dear wonderful friends the Tevels of Crown Heights, Bklyn, taught me the meaning what it would be for me to light the candles. Tonight, I am proud to say, i lit the candles and in doing so found a special light in my heart. Thank you dear friends for giving me so much love Roz and Mel Eisner

I am quite sure this is a niggun of the Third Lubavitcher Rebbe, The Tzemach Tzedek.

To all 'Disappointed'
I have been told that this melody was composed by Chabad Chassidim many years ago when the Mitteler Rebbe was ill and at that time, on Chanukah, only came out to his Chassidim while the Menorah was lit and they sang "Haneiros Hallalu" - this song. The Chassidim, who were longing to see their Rebbe as long as they could, composed this melody, purposely making it beutifull, yet drawn out, for they wnted to see their Rebbe as long as possible... it has since become the Chabad custom to sing this song with "Haneiros Hallalu" each year. And yes, this is the song...
